00:00The name of the Tulfos will remain in the public eye despite the petition that was filed to disqualify them according to the COMELEC.

00:16The Tulfos responded to the issue of political dynasty as mentioned in the petition.

00:22Witness, this is Sandra Aguinaldo.

00:24The COMELEC promised that they will finish all the disqualification petitions that were filed to them before the election on May 12.

00:35This includes the petition to disqualify the five Tulfo relatives who ran in the election of 2025.

00:42ACT-CIS Partylist Representative Erwin Tulfo, ACT-CIS Partylist Representative Joselyn Tulfo,

00:50Kessel City 2nd District Representative Ralph Tulfo,

00:53Partylist Nominee Wanda Tulfo-Teo,

00:56and Senatorial Candidate Ben Tulfo.

00:58In the petition filed by the retired AFP General, Atty. Virgilio Garcia,

01:03two grounds or bases were laid,

01:06particularly mentioned in Section 26, Article 2 of the 1987 Constitution,

01:11where political dynasties are disqualified according to the definition set by the law.

01:17But there is no law that sets the definition set by Congressman Erwin Tulfo.

01:23There needs to be a law.

01:25Unfortunately, the Congress and the Senate are not moving yet.

01:29There needs to be a defining law, enabling law.

01:33Otherwise, where will we start?

01:35Ben Tulfo's answer is almost the same, even though he is against the political dynasty.

01:41As long as there is no clear law, enabling law, who will implement it?

01:46It was also questioned in the petition if Tulfos are natural-born Filipinos,

01:50which is a requirement for running Senators and Congressmen.

01:54The petitioner said that they have been living in America for a long time,

01:58so they should follow the proof that their Filipino citizenship is not lost.

02:02At the end of the petition,

02:04Congressman Erwin Tulfo was not able to sit as the DSWD Secretary

02:09due to the question of his citizenship.

02:12According to the party list that nominated the former Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo,

02:17the Tulfo family has not violated the law.

02:20According to their statements,

02:22Rep. Jocelyn and Ralph Tulfo are possibly politically motivated.

02:27Ralph Tulfo said that he will oppose the petitioner Garcia

02:32as the 2nd District Representative of Quezon City.

02:35According to the committee, the names of the Tulfos will still remain in the ballot.

02:40But even if the Tulfos decide to run for the Supreme Court,

02:44it is possible that the Tulfos will reach the election.

02:47If the Tulfos' case is not decided on time,

02:51and if they are loved,

02:54or if there is a proclamation,

02:57and if there is an assumption,

02:59and if it has been asked,

03:01we cannot do anything if the case is not dismissed

03:04because the Tulfos will lose their jurisdiction.

03:13and the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal
