00:00In the middle of his duty, a barangay officer in Binondo, Manila,

00:06who was cornered by a suspect in the theft of an e-bike,

00:10stabbed the officer in the neck.

00:12Marisol Abdurrahman was the victim.

00:20It's so painful because...

00:24That's the pain that Peton Biazon's family felt

00:28after he lost his job.

00:32Biazon's family responded to the robbery in Barangay 281, Binondo, Manila, yesterday early in the morning.

00:37The officers called the two-way radio

00:41and they saw that someone was pushing an e-bike.

00:45Usually, when someone pushes an e-bike,

00:48it's our suspect who steals it.

00:51When the officers called, they caught him.

00:55Peton and his colleagues were cornered.

00:59But...

01:00There was a commotion

01:03and that's when our suspect came out of hiding.

01:09He was stabbed once in the neck.

01:12The victim was rushed to the hospital but he died instantly.

01:16We can't accept what happened

01:19because that person is a good person.

01:22His parents and siblings helped him.

01:25He gave us all his salary.

01:29He died in such a brutal incident.

01:33The suspect escaped immediately after following the victim's footsteps.

01:37But he was also caught in a place not far from the crime scene

01:41after being tracked by the police.

01:45Through CCTV, we found out his whereabouts.

01:48A murder weapon was recovered that the suspect used to follow him.

01:51The suspect defended himself.

01:53He stabbed me.

01:55I didn't plan to fight.

01:58I just wanted to protect myself.

02:01When he stabbed me again,

02:03I didn't expect him to follow me.

02:09I was holding a screwdriver.

02:12The suspect asked for forgiveness.

02:14He was ready to arrange for the victim's family.

02:17We will fight.

02:19We won't let what happened to my brother happen again.

02:23The suspect filed a complaint of murder

02:25and is now in jail in the Manila Police District.
