Europe will not be part of Ukraine peace talks, US envoy says  Europe won't have a seat at the table for Ukraine peace talks, Donald Trump's Ukraine envoy said on Saturday, February 15, after Washington sent a questionnaire to European capitals to ask what they could contribute to security guarantees for Kyiv.  Trump shocked European allies this week by calling Russian President Vladimir Putin without consulting them or Kyiv beforehand and declaring an immediate start to peace talks.  Kellogg told a global security conference in Munich that the US would act as an intermediary in the talks, with Ukraine and Russia as the two protagonists. 00:18The answer to the earlier part of that question is yes, of course, the Ukrainians are going to be at the table

00:22I mean who would be foolish to say wouldn't but when you say at the table you have to define it

00:27One of the things I'm driving towards is we've had a good

00:31Remember this war has been going on now. We're heading into the third year

00:35One of the things we haven't really gotten to our specifics

00:37So the Europeans who have provided as much or more support to the Americans in this

00:43Process you don't think should be at the table directly. You think it should be two protagonists. I

00:50Said I'm a school of realism. I think that's not gonna happen

00:53But I said that's one of the reasons I'm here talking to people one of the reason we're going out

00:57We're doing it to making sure that their positions are well-known that when we go into these positions

01:03They're well stated now that main and that may be great

01:06I'd like fingers on a chalkboard that may grade a little bit, but I'm telling you something that's really quite honest

01:11So if you see part of the problem that we looked at when you looked at minks, too

01:15There was a lot of people at the table that really had no ability to execute some type of peace process and it failed miserably

01:27That's that but our philosophy is not to continue this war to the death of every last Ukrainian

01:32The intent is to kill stop the carnage stop the war make sure it's reasonable making sure the sovereignty stays

01:39Intact, but we're going to get to specifics about it when you say sitting at the table and all probability

01:45There's really going to be within reason one of the reasons I'm here is for the input obviously

01:50But when you sit at the table

01:52There's really there's two protagonists when you look at it, and there's one hopefully to be an intermediary

01:57Okay, who are the protagonists and who's the intermediary?

02:00Well, I'm saying as we do it fence notice

02:02I'm being very diplomatic about I got my diplomatic had my passport my pocket

02:06The fact is we're looking at you can have the Ukrainians the Russian and clearly the Americans at the table talking

02:11But we've got to have specifics to get to a point, but I'm driving towards very very specific

02:17Very very hard data that we can say this is the what it looks like

02:22And then it's going to be up to the two

02:25Belligerents that are fighting each other right now the Ukrainians and the Russians is this acceptable

02:29But there's no way nobody would ever exclude and nobody's even said that it would challenge anybody

02:35Anybody in this room or anybody in the audience to say when have we ever said?

02:39That the Ukrainians would be excluded from any discussion. It's never been said you know President Trump's very open about that
