Adam Forshaw relished the moment he scored against his former side, Plymouth Argyle, celebrating in front of their bench a month after the club terminated his contract.
Blackburn Rovers brought Argyle back down to earth when they arrived at Ewood Park on Saturday.
The relegation-strugglers were looking to build on a three-game unbeaten streak, which included an unprecedented win over Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round last week.
Forshaw's goal was his first for Rovers since joining in January; it opened the scoring in the affair before Tyrhys Dolan doubled the hosts' lead to secure a 2-0 win.
After finding the back of the net with a looping half-volley, Forshaw wheeled off in celebration and raised his arms out in a Jude Bellingham-esque manner.
He stood meters away from the Argyle bench and was almost in touching distance of their gaffer, Miron Music.
However, after the final whistle, Forshaw told Muslic that his celebration was not a dig towards his former club and that he was running towards his family in the stand.
The Austrian boss explained that the hatchet was buried immediately and that the incident was purely a misunderstanding.
'I have nothing but respect for Forshaw because he explained that behind us was his family, his sons,' Muslic said.
'I respect that, and if I had scored that beautiful goal, I would go to my family to celebrate. He is a top professional, al and there is nothing but respect.
'He told me t, his and for me, the story was done in a millisecond. We hugged each other and moved on.'
The goal was Forshaw's first in nearly nine years as a professional.
Blackburn caretaker manager David Lowe hailed the 33-year-old's 'fantastic' effort and revealed that Rovers' new signing has been a positive influence on their dressing room.
'He was saying he hasn't scored many goals over the years, but in fairness to him today he managed to get into the penalty area, and it was a fantastic finish,' Lowe said.
'I'm pleased for him because he's a terrific pro and has been good since he's been at the club, setting good habits for the young players.
Forshaw joined Argyle as a free agent in January 2024 after having his contract with Norwich terminated.
He made 30 appearances for them before leaving to join Blackburn on January 11, 2025.
A 16-year professional, Forshaw has made 357 senior appearances in his career.
