00:00It's hard to describe, it's gone over the line, just grateful, obviously relieved, just
00:08grateful to finish how I did and manage to get it done.
00:11Today was tough, obviously, I mean the mind is all over the show, I had it under control
00:18I think the first three days, today I didn't, so I don't know how to describe it, I've been
00:27a pro for 12 years or something, I've been trying to do this for 10 years, get across
00:34the line and I feel like I've been close, close, close and just never quite got it,
00:38so to finally get it over the line is massive.
00:41What was your mind like out there on the back nine?
00:46Yeah, I mean I literally missed like a two footer on nine and then just trying to play
00:54my own game, I wasn't concentrating on Nathan going well or the score leaderboard at all,
00:59I didn't look at a leaderboard, you can't work out all the permutations of how you lie
01:03and I know I needed a top three, I knew that, but whether it's tired and it's enough, you
01:09don't know, so just trying to do what I could.
01:12The bogey on the par five on 13 or whatever was tough to sort of swallow because you feel
01:19like you're going to get one there and to give one back was not good at all, but to
01:26birdie the two twos coming in on the par threes is pretty good.
01:30I guess the emotion shows what golf's really about.
01:34Yeah, exactly, I mean I've tried to get it out a couple of times, I should be okay now,
01:40but I just don't think people understand how this game, the highs and the lows, the lows
01:46are low, really low, and you're pretty much on your own, you know, you have your family
01:53and whatever, your closest friends and stuff who try and help you through different things,
01:57but at the same time it's a lonely gig and it's a tough gig, so to be there kind of knocking
02:05your head against the wall is hard.
02:08How good has it been over the years to be with Lauren as well, because she's been out
02:11on vacation as well?
02:12Yeah, exactly, it's something that's awesome, it's one of the best things we've ever done
02:16is for Lauren to caddy for me and us to just wing it like we did.
02:19She totally gets what this is about and what's going on, you know, she's caddied three years,
02:24so that was a great experience for us and it's awesome to share that because she knows
02:30exactly what I'm trying to deal with out there today and yeah, we can just both appreciate
02:36this together.
02:37And I guess, well, you both had to sacrifice a lot, how many, when you backed up from South
02:42Africa and moved to the UK?
02:43Yeah, exactly, we've moved to the UK because to make life on the Challenge Tour a little
02:47bit easier, I think it's almost impossible, I mean, I know Dion did it and guys did it,
02:52but they're away from home three months at a time, you know.
02:56The difference, I think, is those guys are young enough, they're 23, 24, live with mum
03:00and dad, you know what I mean, they're coming over to Europe, living the dream, playing
03:03golf where as you get older, I think it's what makes these days like today that much
03:08more difficult as you're just so desperate to get that card because off the golf course,
03:14life's going on, you know, I'm 35, I have a little boy, so to just keep playing and
03:20keep falling short is a tough pill to swallow.
03:25Cambo's charging around, do you think he knows what's going on?
03:27Yeah, no, not a clue, not a clue, not interested in dad at this stage either, so he's a bit
03:33miz actually, old Cambo today, but yeah, hopefully he'll come right.
