Im Boxer-Drama Day of the Fight stand ein früher gefeierter und bekannter Boxer eine ganze Weile nicht im Ring. Der Grund dafür: Er musste einige Zeit im Gefängnis verbringen. Als er entlassen wird, will er zum Boxen zurückkehren und bereitet sich körperlich, aber auch mental auf seinen ersten Kampf in Freiheit vor. Dabei setzt er sich auch mit den Fehlern seiner Vergangenheit auseinander.
