This is a re-edit of a creative commons episode released by The National Archives Young Learners Program. In this episode entitled "Meet Washington Irving" actor Neil Hartley plays the part of Washington Irving, America's first literary celebrity and author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". However, I have attempted to spice up the slightly dry presentation by taking all the statements by the interviewer Missy McNatt out of context, and use them in a dialogue with Irving. This is done in order to make it more accessible to students by adding a little humor, and some music. There is no need to credit me if you wish to use this, I am releasing it under a creative commons license. You can remove all references to Historyradio.org, if you like (intro, outro & jingle).
