00:00Hi we're Lauren Hartson and Bertie Hartson and Ralph and we have just had
00:07our first book published, haven't we little man? Have you got it there?
00:15Don't forget that ogre who really loves sugar and we're just here to tell you a
00:19little bit about it. Where did the idea come from? So Bertie was poorly on and off for
00:27quite a while and there was a couple of months wasn't there that I think post
00:31Covid lockdown you just had one thing after the other and we got a little bit
00:39bored of playing board games and reading books and so decided one afternoon at
00:42the kitchen table that we would try and write a book. At the time that we
00:46wrote it I don't think we ever imagined it would end up as a real published book
00:50but we had lots of fun didn't we? You had some good imagination and some
00:56good use of your words. Can you tell me about the characters in the book Bertie?
01:04Well they were designed by my Pinkie and Ogre. Yeah that's Leo the Lynx, this is Ralph, this is me and Peter Bear, Leo the Lynx and Bo the Ogre.
01:20What do they each like doing? They all like different things don't they?
01:27Yoga, bouncing, climbing. The idea of the story is that Boga really loves to do yoga, hence the title, but his friends aren't quite so keen and I think it's about, it's a story isn't it to promote some more conversation about the fact that you don't have to like everything the same to be friends.
01:50And how did it feel to have the finished book? It was really exciting wasn't it?
01:58Can you answer Heather's question? What was it like to have the book in our hands? It was amazing really.
02:10It was really exciting wasn't it? Can you remember opening it that day after months and months?
02:15It was nearly a year wasn't it before we got to see it from the first time we signed the contract, well it was nearly two years wasn't it from when we got to it? And so it was really exciting.
02:31And where can people buy the book? So number 61 in Nardole have very kindly stocked it for us. Waterstones in Sheesby, I think Sheesby's really good at celebrating it's opening day so Waterstones were going to stock it for us and then it's available online in most of the big retailers isn't it?
02:53In a town called Big Boogie there lived an ogre named Booger and his favourite activity in the whole world was yoga.
03:02He went with his friends a lynx called Leo and a bear called Bea and asked them would you like to do yoga with me? They agreed to Booger filed a claim to a tent and off they went with his friends.
03:16When he arrived everyone lay out their mats and at last Booger's tent started to rise. Down the dog into Borough of Vancouver his body always felt strong.
03:26So what's your favourite bit of the book? When they all come together again. When they all get to be friends and they figure it out? Yeah.
