00:00Middlesbrough have no time to rest on their laurels following a very
00:05disappointing defeat away at Sheffield United in midweek in which further
00:08individual errors cost them dearly. Those types of mistakes have slowly crept in
00:13in recent weeks at what is possibly the worst time of the season for it to
00:17happen for Michael Carrick's side. With a home tie against Watford to come at the
00:24weekend those on Teesside know that this game has suddenly taken on huge
00:28importance to simply steady the ship and get Borough back on track in the race
00:32for the playoffs. Wynne and some calmness will be restored but lose and the
00:37pressure will start to mount around the club. Carrick acknowledged the individual
00:43errors but shouldered the responsibility of Borough's overall form.
00:47It's something we have suffered from at times of moments when you look
00:53back at some of the goals we've conceded and yeah it's that's the
00:58challenge from a coaching point of view you know it's it's it's on my shoulders
01:02I accept the responsibility you know for every little mistake it's on me I take
01:06that whether that's a structural thing a tactical thing an individual that's if
01:11we win and someone tells me well done it's on me if we don't and we concede
01:15goals and for whatever reason it's on me so I'm there to help the boys as much as
01:20I can and give them advice and guidance and prepare them for the next game
01:23so it's it can be frustrating disappointment but the other side of it
01:28is what can we do about it and that's my task at the moment. On the mood in the
01:35camp Carrick outlined that there was still stability but admitted that the
01:39squad are aware that improvements are needed if Borough are to get back into
01:44the playoff places in the championship. I think there's a calmness but that's
01:50not a that's not a feeling of just accepting how everything will be okay I
01:56think we understand we have to do something about it we've got to act on
01:58it the boys who came in today as I've said and you know deeply disappointed
02:03and want to do better and are keen to do better so there's a when I say there's a
02:08calmness I think there's a we're trying to I'm doing everything we can to think
02:12clearly because I think it's important you take a balanced view and judge it in
02:16the right manner when you're going through these spells and the boys
02:21will be in a good frame of mind going into the game on Saturday. With the
02:24Watford game taking on larger significance will Carrick adapt his
02:28approach or setup in order to secure the victory against the Hornets at the
02:33Riverside? That's the that's the ultimate decision for us you know of looking at
02:40how we've done what it looks like little bits within the game that we can do
02:44something about in tweaking. What I'm going to change if I'm going to change
02:49we'll see come Saturday but it's we've got players to adapt and be
02:54flexible so it's just something we're constantly looking at.
