00:00Gulf News, the UAE's number one English daily newspaper, has launched CoCertify, whereby
00:06its offices will be used as the venue for various international certifications and school
00:11exams. Gulf News and the British Council signed an agreement to use the Gulf News premises
00:16on Shakeside Road as the venue for its various certification exams, including the International
00:21English Language Testing Systems.
00:23We're proud to have this relation with the British Council, very well known for its services
00:29in education, spreading culture all over the world, and helping students to get through
00:36their courses in English or their pathway to universities in England.
00:41The British Council in the UAE offers IELTS, an international standardized test of English
00:46language proficiency for non-native English speakers, as well as general training and
00:51UK visas and immigration tests.
00:53This is an important partnership because both the organizations come with two different
01:00industries, Gulf News being at the centre in the UAE for information access, as Gulf
01:06News says, information, education and entertainment, whereas we in the British Council, we create
01:12access to education and culture.
01:14This sort of partnership will give a very large sort of access to UAE nationals and
01:20expats living in the UAE towards education, qualifications and training.
01:26For us, we find that this relation really has a synergy because, as Mr. Deeb mentioned,
01:33they're in education and we are in information, but when it comes to us as a media always,
01:39we see one of our roles also to educate people.
01:42We are happy with this relationship and I hope in the future, inshallah, we'll take
01:46it further ahead and strengthen this relationship in the coming days.
