The spa town of Ilkley has a new fountain. The original fountain, which dated from the 19th century, became disused more than 50 years ago. The new fountain designed by local artists Juliet and Jamie Gutch is a contemporary interpretation of the spa town’s unique relationship with its moorland water. #Ilkley

00:05You join me in Ilkley in West Yorkshire, where local people are celebrating after the town had its fountain restored,
00:13more than half a century after it was closed.
00:17The original fountain was built here in Victorian times,
00:22but 60 years ago, after it was vandalised, the fountain itself became disused.
00:28A new fountain has now been created with support from local people and local artists.
00:33It's now become a key focal point at the heart of the West Yorkshire Spartan,
00:39which a few years ago was voted the best place to live in Britain.
00:44It's a new fountain here at the heart of Ilkley in West Yorkshire.
