Loved and lost places in the 'steel city' including the Hole in the Road, Sheffield Ski Village, Kelvin Flats, and Castle Market.

00:00some of Sheffield's loved and lost landmarks such as the hole in the road
00:05it was the city underground which then became more of a urinal and of course
00:12Sheffield's famous ski village until it was burnt down locals now hope that this
00:19will be developed and of course Sheffield's wedding cake registry office
00:25it was dubbed by locals as the wedding cake and that's not forgetting the egg
00:31box building behind the town hall it was home to some of the council's admin
00:36staff while this former nightclub still remains it looks very different today
00:41and of course Kelvin flats whilst these were demolished other such tower blocks
00:49dubbed a city in the sky like Park Hill have now been redeveloped many locals
00:55and market traders alike will have fond memories of Castle Market this has been
01:02demolished to make way for an excavation project of Sheffield Castle and a
01:07redevelopment some of the traders however have moved to the moor market
01:11the moor is where Atkinson's remains but sadly Debenhams has gone Sheffield is a
01:18city where old meets new and a lot of the new development part of Sheffield's
01:24heart of the city project which will transform the city centre
