00:00Good day. Welcome to the Gulf News Update for Wednesday, May the 3rd. Here are the top
00:07stories at this hour. The U.S. Justice Department has decided not to bring any charges against
00:13the officers involved in the death of Alton Sterling in Louisiana last summer. The videotaped
00:20shooting of Sterling by police in Baton Rouge prompted unrest across the city. But the Justice
00:26Department said it was planning to reveal in the next 24 hours that it has closed the
00:31investigation. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Sterling family had yet to be informed of
00:37the decision. President Donald Trump will play peacemaker at the White House later today,
00:43meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. The meeting is part of an effort to end the
00:49long-running Palestinian-Israeli conflict. After hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
00:55Netanyahu in February, Trump will host Abbas for the first time since coming to office.
01:01Trump claims he has a historic plan for Arab-Israeli peace, which decades of American administrations
01:08have failed to achieve. Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational goal-scoring record was hailed
01:15as unique by boss Zinedine Zidane. The tribute came as Ronaldo's latest hat-trick left Real
01:21Madrid on the verge of another Champions League final by thrashing Atletico Madrid 3-0. The treble
01:29was his second against Atletico this season and second straight in the Champions League after
01:34hitting three past Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals. Justin Bieber is a different man,
01:41and organisers of his Dubai concert are optimistic that the pop star will start his performance on
01:47time on May 6. Bieber notoriously turned up two hours late for both his performances in Dubai in
01:542013 during his Believe World Tour. His current Purpose World Tour, in support of his fourth
02:02album, lands in the UAE on Saturday at the Autism Rocks Arena at 8pm. And finally, the weather.
02:09Today's high across the UAE will be 39 degrees Celsius, dropping to 29 degrees at night. That's
02:15all for now. Thanks for watching. As always, you can get the latest news on golfnews.com.
