00:00India is a bright spot in the world economy, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said as he unveiled
00:15his annual budget today.
00:18Jaitley pledged relief for middle-class taxpayers and small and medium-sized companies while
00:23planning billions of dollars in spending to double farmers' incomes over the next
00:29five years.
00:30The budget also vowed to improve the country's ramshackle infrastructure and provide cheap
00:36homes to people.
00:37Projecting an economic growth of between 6.75% and 7.5% in 2017-2018, Jaitley raised the
00:48federal deficit target to 3.2% of GDP.
00:53The Israeli regime announced Tuesday night the construction of 3,000 colony homes in
00:59the occupied West Bank.
01:01It was the fourth such announcement in less than two weeks since the inauguration of US
01:06President Donald Trump.
01:08They had been frozen under pressure from the previous Obama administration, which had warned
01:14that colonies could derail hopes of a two-state solution.
01:19African leaders have adopted a strategy calling for a collective withdrawal from the International
01:24Criminal Court.
01:25The non-binding decision came behind closed doors near the end of an African Union summit
01:31and was the latest expression of impatience by African leaders with the court.
01:36Some nations have claimed that the court focuses too narrowly on Africa while pursuing cases
01:42of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
01:46Johnny Depp's former business managers have countersued the actor.
01:51The filing in Los Angeles Superior Court by the management group claimed his lavish lifestyle
01:56that cost more than $2 million a month to maintain caused his recent financial troubles.
02:03The lawsuit said Depp paid more than $75 million to buy and maintain 14 homes, including a
02:10French chateau and a chain of islands in the Bahamas.
02:14They also said the Hollywood star ignored their repeated warnings.
