00:00For this album, I wanted to do something a bit more personal, I suppose, than my third.
00:15My third was really designed for my world tour, to fill the arenas with sound. I was
00:18picking up an electric guitar, trying to be a rock star, unconvincingly, and so for this
00:24one I wrote some deeply personal songs and I went back to find the man who recorded my
00:28first album, Back to Bedlam, ten years ago, the producer of that, his name's Tom Rothrock.
00:33We locked ourselves in a studio for a year and I suppose I needed to go to him because
00:37he was there before the audience, you know, and we made this album that we love, I suppose,
00:42locking ourselves away in the studio for a year in this little capsule of the album that
00:46sounds old school and retro and nostalgic and lonely and that's why we called it Moonlanding.
00:50Well the song in the first place was fun, I jumped on One Republic's tour bus because
00:58I was writing a song with Ryan Tedder, their lead singer. I was a groupie to the band One
01:03Republic, although I never had to put out, and we wrote that song on the road and then
01:09for the video, we didn't use actors, we just met regular people as we crossed two states
01:15in America, Wyoming and Idaho on a bike, I love motorbikes, and for the final scene
01:21we were pulling into a car park and there was a bar there with a wedding taking place
01:25which we didn't know about and they spilt out saying what the hell are you doing here
01:28and I got out my guitar and I played them Bonfire Heart and the bride and groom had
01:31their first dance of their wedding in the car park surrounded by their friends and we
01:34filmed it and that's what is my video.
01:36Yeah, I mean there's a socking great poster there of Michael Bublé, isn't there, overlooking
01:46the stage, I've asked if they'll cover it up for the show and I think it's a great spot
01:52to buy for so many things, people are coming here for so many things and while you've got
01:58an audience, roll on with the music, it's great.
02:01A large audience is great because you know you're earning a lot of money, but then as
02:07far as a small audience, probably has an intensity and probably on a musical front, is more rewarding.
02:19Thank you guys, shukran!
