00:00Well, you say in the book that you have to ask yourself the power of, like, the power
00:02of why.
00:03Yeah.
00:04The power of why.
00:05What is my purpose?
00:06What is my why?
00:07And my passion.
00:08You know, Serena Williams wrote the poem.
00:09Yeah.
00:10It is a very dear friend of mine.
00:11And she has been such an inspiration to me through this journey.
00:14You know, she lost her sister.
00:16She almost died of a pulmonary embolism like J.R.
00:19She has been such a source of inspiration.
00:22But she was the one who told me, hey, you need to go to...
00:25She sent me a passage.
00:26And this passage was this advertisement for a group grief class.
00:30And I went to it.
00:31She's like, you got to go.
00:32And I was like, ah.
00:33When I got there, I was like, I got to find a way out.
00:35Right.
00:36I don't want to go in there.
00:37But I did it.
00:38And long story short, I realized that, you know, there weren't just women who had lost
00:41their husbands.
00:42Some of these women had lost their lives.
00:44The way to pay for their bills, the way to support their children in school or make a
00:47light bill or a card payment.
00:49And I realized I still had all that.
00:51And I couldn't imagine what life would be like for somebody who was also grieving and
00:55having to start a whole new life.
00:57And I promised myself from that moment on, I would find my new why, which was always
01:01my why, which is to keep helping people find a better way.
01:06And either through grief or through, you know, an alternative plan B. And so that's what
01:11I'm doing.
01:12That's what I'm focused on.
01:13And that's exactly what you're doing with this book.
01:14You mentioned Serena.
01:15What did you think of her at the Super Bowl?
01:16I was so proud of her.
01:17I said, she's my mood all day today.
01:18Wasn't she amazing?
01:19She was so good.
01:20I was just like, I want to do that dance.
01:21I texted her.
01:22I was like, you killed it.
01:23She's like, you killed it.
01:24She's like, you think?
01:25I was like, yeah.
01:26Yeah.
01:27Did you know that she was doing it?
01:28Well, no, but she, I could not wait to write her because she wrote me right away.
01:32She's like, what'd you think?
01:33I was like, you killed it.
01:34And she looked brilliant.
01:35So good.
01:36She looks so good.
01:37She's tight and taut and tiny and her hair was flying and she looked awesome.
01:41I was like, I wanted to look like that.
01:43That's the way that was the Super Bowl show for me.
01:46I loved it.
01:47I was, yes, happy for Philly, but just super happy.
01:50I love her.
01:51She's, she's a girl's girl.
01:54You know, one of those girls who has given so much of herself and, you know, I remember
01:59on the boat with her shortly after J.R. passed, she would come and just sometimes sit there
02:02with me and I wouldn't be right.
02:05You know, I wasn't in my right frame of mind.
02:07There was nothing anyone can say.
02:08It's like when you're in a room full of people that you can't see any of them, your grief
02:12is so deep that you're in these clouds and you wonder if there's sun again.
02:16You wonder if there's rainbows again.
02:17And she would just say, I'm not leaving.
02:19Just going to sit here.
02:20I don't care if I get on your nerves.
02:22I'm not going to talk.
02:23I'm just going to be with you.
02:24It's a good friend.
02:25And she was.
02:26Yeah.
02:27And it was really just amazing for me.
02:28It's a really good friend.
02:29She's a real sister.
