00:46taste food. And even old times, kitchen was supposed to be a space where the whole family
00:51even now when we say one meal together, it kind of is an extension of the kitchen when
00:56you sit down at the dining table and have one meal together. The most formal of families
01:00will say, no, one meal has to be together with Papa, Mama and everyone. So the design
01:05part of it of course is completely Tony's and Laurie's and everyone involved with this,
01:10the experts. But when they ask me, what do you think a townhouse should be like? Well
01:14my thought was it should be a photo. Most of the stuff that I do work-wise also, I'd
01:20like it to be of mass appeal. I'd like people of most strata's to like it. It's not too
01:27populist, it's not too elitist, it's somewhere in the middle. Most of the products that I
01:33get to endorse, including the Tag Heuer, Hyundai, so many of them, normally fall in that category.
01:39So my idea always is that it should be something belonging to the world where I belong. I'm
01:45a low middle class guy, so if I wanted a house and I wanted a house to myself, what should
01:50it be like? So please try and make it affordable to start off with. Try to have a kitchen as
01:55the central theme. So these are the design parts. As far as investment is concerned,
01:59with all due respect to the reputation I have as a businessman, I'm the wrongest guy to
02:03ask this. I have no idea at all. I'll be very honest, I would never guide anyone wrong.
02:09If today my son was to ask me, is this the right time to invest? I'd say I'm not the
02:12guy to ask to. Go ask someone else. I have no idea. And the idea that I liked the most
02:17and the reason I agreed to do this was, like I keep saying, that it's affordable. To have
02:22a townhouse at this affordability. So that's what my contribution, if it can be called
02:26a contribution, the whole concept of designing townhouses or individual homes and even apartments,
02:33as the details will tell you, at a price that is affordable for everyone. I, for one, am
02:39a big believer of home building because I've never had a house till I kind of became 32.
02:47Yeah, in my 30s, early 30s. And I cherish the whole thought of a house, a home. The
02:54first one always being the special one. And maybe you don't get opportunities. I got fortunate
03:00enough to build a bigger one. But the first one still remains the first one. So I hope
03:04that the Royal Estates in the Dubai Investment Park does become the first home for people
03:10who belong to a strata, where they want to buy a house, want to have an individual house
03:15and, you know, and inshallah go on to buy a bigger, better one, which again would be
03:20Royal Estates Park too.
