00:00Since I was 5 years old, I started in my family's circus, there I started to practice contortions.
00:30Because it comes from a tradition from many years ago, from many years ago with my family, my grandparents, my parents, and now the new tradition that we are.
00:40Well, tonight I'm going to perform for the whole audience, the entry in the box, the cylinder, the location of shoulders and arms, and several things that are going to have fun, part of the contortion.
01:00No, I have never damaged the body, I do everything according to the years of experience I have and the rehearsal.
01:30The saxophone, the musical bottles.
02:01I started in Mexico City performing as a little clown. I was 4 years old and I started with my father in the circus, like a little acrobatic clown.
02:14We practice more and more to be an acrobat, and then start with the trampoline, and then with the flying trapeze, and now today I'm one of the dead devils acrobats in the world.
02:25I perform in the wheel of death, the motorcycle on the high wire, the cyclone. Cyclone is a big platform with a chopper motorcycle, make a triple somersault, 50 feet in the air.
02:37We practice every day about 2 to 3 hours, no day off, just to fix a few fails in the show time, and this is what we practice, and also to keep in shape.
02:49In that time, in 1987, my brother was the catcher, I was the flyer. I made my triple somersault, when I catch him in the hands, that was too short, because one of the cables snapped.
03:13And unfortunately I fell in the net, and then in the ground, and I broke my back, in three parts. That cost me 13 months in a wheelchair.
03:22No, don't start me, I don't even get scared, that was just an accident.
03:27That was very, very difficult to recover, and trust my brother in the flying trapeze again, that was very difficult.
03:36But little by little, I started from zero. I started again swinging in the flying trapeze, I started with my first somersault, then double somersault, until I reached the triple somersault again.
03:47Yeah, we are like about 20 performers, we all together, push together to make this show happen. And all the cast, we got really, really good people right now.
03:58We don't call it a job, we call it our life, because this is really enjoyable. It's not like a real job. I enjoy performing for the people, I enjoy to see the smiley face of the little boy, when I do any trick, they kind of, ahh, a big surprise, I love it.
04:17I got one message for everybody, all the performers around the world, please keep the circus alive.
04:29Realmente yo creo que yo nací en circo, y me crié en circo, y voy a estar para toda mi vida en el circo, porque este trabajo lo amo.
04:47¿Cómo me siento?
05:17¡Incredible!
