00:00It's etched in my memory. It was the 5th of November and because I woke up with horrible
00:11noises and I thought, what is this? And I thought it would go away. I had no idea what
00:17this noise was. It was horrible. And then, I mean, I did everything, went down to the
00:22North Coast, listened to the waves crashing, playing loud music, everything, and it just
00:28wouldn't go away. And then, whenever I went to the doctors, they said it's most likely
00:33tinnitus. I remember visiting an old lady once and she was so depressed and miserable.
00:42She had tinnitus. And that just struck me. Here's me. I've got this now and I'm going
00:46to be like that. Because then it took a year of different audiology appointments then to
00:54get any kind of relief. Once I got my hearing aids, it was life-changing. Yeah, hearing
01:01aids, I thought, I mean, gosh, I've turned into my mother and she didn't like wearing
01:04hers either. That's the first thing I do in the morning is put them on. It was absolutely
01:10transformational. But they take away the horrible, constant ringing that is always in my ears.
01:19It was like the world became lovely again and colourful and bright and the sounds. I
01:26love listening to the birds in the trees. I open the door every morning and hear them,
01:31the birds singing. And it just gave me, it literally gave me a whole new lease of life.
01:35Gave me my life back. I can enjoy it with my grandchildren and everybody.
01:40Well, definitely get the ball rolling. Go to the doctor. You have to be referred, so
01:48you do. But go to the appointments and get the audiologist and they will help you. And
01:57do not think for a second you don't want hearing aids. If you have tinnitus and you have a
02:03chance of relief, you take the hearing aids and you will be absolutely over the moon with
02:10it. It's amazing. They're amazing. I love them.
