00:00I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our staff who have been involved in the
00:07planning for this storm, during the storm and in the aftermath of it.
00:12This storm has presented many, many challenges, not least to those staff who have had to provide
00:17an essential service in the community and there have been heroic stories of how nurses
00:23and social care staff have tried to access their clients.
00:26I would like to appreciate the fantastic effort that the Estates team made in preparation
00:32during and after the storm. It was a fantastic team effort across the trust with all the
00:39different departments working together and it's great to be able to ensure that our service
00:43users and our buildings stay safe during that period.
00:47During the recent storm, our district nursing teams across our communities pulled together
00:52in a way that can't even be described to ensure that our patients were safe in their
00:58own homes. That work continues today, five days post storm and it shows again the commitment
01:04and the skill of our district nursing team in the South Eastern Trust. The pulling together,
01:09the teamwork and that's from every level, from every level in the trust, every single
01:14team have pulled together to ensure that their patients are safe in their own homes.
01:18In the Community Equipment Service there was a mammoth effort to work in coordination
01:22with our partner organisation to get equipment out to where it was needed. Really it was
01:27vital for those that were in vulnerable positions in the community because of the power outage.
01:32The team pulled together immensely.
01:35I'm extremely proud of the lengths that staff have gone to over the last few days to put
01:40patient safety at the heart of what we do. It has just been a testament to the staff
01:45that we have. From the bottom of my heart to everyone that has been involved, to my
01:49own staff, to the staff right across the trust and to those community partners and agencies
01:54that have supported us and our patients and our clients and those most vulnerable at our
01:58time of need. Thanks a million.
