00:00The Puerto Princesa City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommends that the city should be under the State of Calamity

00:08because of the heavy rainfall.

00:16In the help of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council yesterday,

00:21the Council decided that it recommends that the Puerto Princesa City should be under the State of Calamity

00:30The recommendation of the CDRR-MC to Mayor Lucilo Arbayron as chairman

00:36was passed in a resolution approved by the members of the Council.

00:40The recommendation was followed by the members of the CDRR-MC.

00:46According to the City Social Welfare and Development Office,

00:49the heavy rainfall affected 18 barangays of the city,

00:53of which 1,402 families, made up of 5,235 individuals, are in 17 evacuation centers.

01:03These were provided with family food packs, hot meals, and beddings for the children and newborn babies.

01:11According to the City Agriculture Office, 1,355 farmers were affected,

01:17of which their crops that were close to harvest were submerged in the flood.

01:22It is estimated that 797 hectares of rice and high-value crops were damaged by the flood.

01:30According to the City Agriculturalist Melissa Makasait,

01:33the cost of the land will reach Php 120 million based on its farm gate price.

01:40In the fishing sector, the cost of fishing in the city was less than Php 1.2 million,

01:47which was affected by the bad weather.

01:50The recommendation of the CDRR-MC will be submitted to the City of Sanggunian

01:55to discuss in the regular session of Sanggunian today.

01:59A Php 86 million Quick Response Fund has been prepared by the City of Puerto Princesa

02:05to help the families affected by the flood in the city.
