00:00Seasoned runners and even national team members are expected to participate in the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 that will happen in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:10This March, Justine Ilano has more.

00:15The highly anticipated 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 Puerto Princesa, set to take place in Palawan this March, is about to kick off.

00:23According to Princess Galura, one of the main organizers of the prestigious event, they are expecting over a thousand participants from more than 40 countries to compete in the triathlon event.

00:34Athletes will battle it out in individual and relay events, in addition to categories for IRONMAN Kids and the Princesa Run.

00:42Well, less than three weeks ago, then it rained in the last couple of days, right?

00:47When it rained, I just checked, it's sunny already.

00:50So, actually, now, back to preparations again.

00:52Because this March, our career is the time of the Balayong Festival, which also showcases the foundation day of the city.

01:00After the pandemic, sports really boomed.

01:03I mean, not just basketball, not just multi-sports like IRONMAN.

01:07Volleyball, football, and other multi-sports events.

01:11One of the representatives of the national team is triathlete star, Mervin Santiago.

01:16He said that he has thoroughly prepared for this year's edition of IRONMAN and has already developed the training plan he will use with the goal of winning a medal in the competition.

01:26I'm proud to represent our country, my team.

01:29And, of course, to compete with the other countries, it's a challenge for us, the triathletes.

01:35Because there are other countries to join.

01:38Of course, we want the Filipinos to step up.

01:42Meanwhile, IRONMAN also announced that registration is still open for those who wish to join the Princesa Run.

01:48The entire event will run from February 27 to March 2, 2025.
