00:04assures the country's security is under control.

00:07A shooting incident took place in a neighbouring city on Saturday night.

00:12In a press conference, Saifuddin asked people not to panic

00:15because public safety is the top priority of the ministry,

00:19especially the police.

00:22Knowing the concerns of many people regarding the use of firearms,

00:25Saifuddin said that Malaysia has strict control of weapons available.

00:30Saifuddin said that the authorities have a strict process

00:33for those who ask for a permit for firearms,

00:36including in various levels involving Bukit Aman and its ministry.

00:41However, he said that the shooting incident in Setia Alam

00:44required a training module for the police and security personnel.

00:49Yesterday, Bukit Aman said that the shooter was identified as a 30-year-old man

00:54who was suspected to be under the influence of drugs when the incident took place

00:57and the suspect was also reported to have a record of 11 violent crimes.
