A 62-year-old woman crashed her vehicle into a shop in Sabah’s east-coast Tawau district after failing to turn off the engine and shift the gear to "park," police said.

00:09The car, with one passenger on board, was parked in front of the premises, with the
00:13engine still running when the incident occurred along Jalan Bintang, off Batu Tiga Jalan Apas,
00:18on Saturday.
00:19Tawau District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Jasmine Husin said an initial investigation
00:25found that the driver had exited the vehicle without securing the gear in park or switching
00:30off the engine.
00:32As a result, the car moved forward and smashed into the shop's glass window.
00:36ACP Jasmine confirmed that the shop's glass door and some interior items were damaged
00:41but no workers were injured.
00:43The case is being investigated under Section 43, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act
00:481987 for careless driving causing an accident.
