00:00Several government MPs have criticised the Bersatu for continuing to claim that a snap election might be held this year,

00:08even though the government's term ends in 2027, saying such claims are irresponsible and would lead to political instability.

00:17The MPs also reminded Bersatu that the young Diputuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim had warned MPs against causing any political instability in his maiden address to the Dewan Rakyat last February.

00:29Jelutung MP RSN Reyer said, Bersatu has run out of ideas to create instability and is not serving as a constructive opposition force under the country's parliamentary system.

00:41Bangi MP Sharizan Johan said, there was no need for a snap election at the end of the year as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's government is stable.

00:51Barisan Nasional's Kinabatangan MP Bung Mokhtar Radin also pointed out that parliament can only be dissolved for a general election with the consent of the young Diputuan Agong.

01:02In contrast to his colleagues in the government bloc, Pasir Gudang MP Hasan Karim said,

01:08there was nothing extraordinary about preparing for a snap election as party leaders are duty-bound to always remind the party's machinery to be ready.

01:17In a Facebook post on Friday, Bersatu's Secretary-General Azmin Ali said,

01:22party president Muhyiddin Yassin had ordered the party's machinery to be mobilised immediately in preparation for a potential snap general election at the end of the year.
