Rules for Observing Ekadashi Vrat
Preparation (A Day Before - Dashami Tithi)
Eat satvik (pure vegetarian) food before sunset.
Avoid onion, garlic, and heavy grains like rice and wheat.
Fasting on Ekadashi
Types of fasting:
Nirjala (Waterless Fasting) – No food or water for 24 hours (very strict).
Jal Sevan (Water-only Fasting) – Only water is consumed.
Falahar (Fruit & Milk Fasting) – Fruits, nuts, and milk products are allowed.
