00:24The country's factory output grew by 0.4% in December 2024, reversing the contraction seen
00:33in November, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority or PSA. This growth was driven by an
00:38increase in the production of computer, electronic, optical products and petroleum,
00:43though it was lower than the 3.7% growth in December 2023. The volume of production also
00:50rose by 0.2%, supported by similar industries. Manufacturing capacity utilization slightly
00:57decreased to 75% but remained higher than the previous year's 74.6%. Key industries within
01:04high utilization included textiles, machinery, and non-metallic mineral products.
01:11The Basis Conversion and Development Authority or BCDA has signed new lease agreements with
01:16sub-leases of CJH Development Corporation for various areas in Camp Janje in Baguio City,
01:23following the Supreme Court's ruling allowing the BCDA to recover the property.
01:28Over 40 new residential agreements have already been signed, with more expected to be finalized
01:34soon. BCDA President Joshua Binkang assured stakeholders the authority is committed to
01:40facilitating a smooth transition and improving facilities, services, and employment opportunities
01:45in the area. The BCDA also plans to review Camp Janje's master plan to align it with Sustainable
01:52Development's goal. The Anti-Red Tape Authority or ARTA has proposed to the Office of the President
01:59a plan to simplify and speed up the processing of medical and financial assistance for Filipinos.
02:05ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez announced that the 2025 ease of doing business economic
02:11briefing of the agency's leading efforts to streamline and harmonize the processes
02:16across government agencies, aiming to standardize requirements, remove unnecessary or redundant
02:22steps, and set clear turnaround times for faster assistance. The initiative involves
02:27various government agencies, including the DSWD, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Pagcor,
