00:00In National Arts Month, we will invite a group of talented performers from Bulacan
00:06who are promoting culture and art.
00:08And this year, we will invite their prepared performances.
00:12Joining us today is Nico Demos Varona,
00:14the Program Head of Bachelor of Performing Arts of the Bulacan State University.
00:18Good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine Pilipinas.
00:21Good morning. Good morning to everyone who is watching Rise and Shine.
00:24First of all, let us know how and when Sinig Sakbibi Ansam started.
00:31So the story of Sinig Sakbibi Ansam goes all the way back to 2012.
00:36When the Theater Arts Program was established in Bulacan State University,
00:41the professors there came up with the idea to form a laboratory group
00:46so that the students would have the opportunity to practice their craft.
00:51So the so-called PAD-TA or Performing Arts Division Theater Arts was formed.
00:57And then, as the years went by, the name of the org evolved
01:03and it became Sinig Sakbibi Ansam.
01:05Because in 2018, CHED-MEMO released the Bachelor of Performing Arts Theater Track,
01:12the organization rebranded into Sinig Sakbibi.
01:16So the idea of Sinig Sakbibi,
01:18the term Sakbibi means to carry or to carry.
01:22So the idea is that the members of this organization carry the music
01:26to their audiences and to the future generations of artists.
01:30Alright, Nico, we want to know about the 11th theater season called Guhot-Gunaw.
01:36When was this and tell us more about this.
01:37So Guhot-Gunaw is our current theater season.
01:40So this Sinig Sakbibi has been going on for 11 years.
01:43And what we want to show here in Guhot-Gunaw is the different productions
01:49that are trying to break the preconceived notions of morality, of memory.
01:56And we want to show here the talents that our students at Bulacan State University have.
02:03So you said talent, what are the performances that you want to show this year?
02:08So our performances are mostly theater productions
02:12because this is aligned with our theater program.
02:15So for this season, we have three major productions this particular semester.
02:22So this Feb 12-15, we have what we call Redux.
02:28And then in April, we also have Playfest.
02:31And on May, we have an adaptation of a classic play.
02:35So there are a lot of performances, right?
02:38You know, some of these students have become students and they are very talented.
02:42Sometimes, you will be the one who will learn from these students.
02:44And you will be kind, right?
02:47I'm the only one who's not kind.
02:49But maybe we should also ask for guidance on the performances.
02:53About where to go and what to look out for.
02:57What are the differences from the previous theater productions that will be released this year?
03:01So this Redux is our upcoming production for Feb 12-15.
03:09It's a compilation of five plays that have already been held at the Culture and Arts Festival.
03:15This is only in November.
03:16So these are the winning entries.
03:18They are short plays.
03:19So they are 15-minute plays.
03:21And we brought them together to give to our community at Bulacan State University.
03:27So those people who are outside can also join?
03:30Yes.
03:31Everyone is also invited to join Bulacan State University and to witness the talents of our students.
03:38That's exciting.
03:39You just need to know where exactly Bulacan University is because there are a lot of branches.
03:43Yes, we are.
03:44Do you want me to invite you to become one of the speakers?
03:46I told you, at Bulacan State University, not at Malolas Campus, but at Bustos.
03:50I'll go to Bustos.
03:52Anyway, this is the time for us to invite our KRS-P.
03:56Where can we buy tickets?
03:58Do you have social media pages?
04:00So, KRS-P, fellow citizens, we are inviting you to come here to Bulacan State University
04:07and to watch our performances.
04:10You can visit our Facebook page, Siningsak Bibi Ansam.
04:15We are also on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
04:19And this is our upcoming production, Redux, February 12-15 at Bulsu E-Library 5th Floor Function Hall.
04:29So, for tickets, you may visit our Facebook page and inquire to our messenger.
04:35It's already reserved on eLive.
04:37Congratulations.
04:38But anyway, of course, shout out to our co-faculties who are also supporting the students.
04:44They are Ma'am Chia, Sir Dagsil, Ma'am Lori, Ding Mary, and many more.
04:51Good luck!
04:52And we're excited to watch the performances of Siningsak Bibi Ansam for the upcoming
04:58February 12-15 and April and May.
05:03We are joined this morning by Demos Verona, Program Head of Bachelor of Performing Arts
05:08at Bulacan State University.
05:10Thank you so much.
