00:00You know where we've had a lot of sleet I see traffic moving Aaron, but it appears to be moving very slow
00:09Yeah, that's right here in Scranton we've been getting that mixed precip winter precip all morning
00:15Sleep freezing rain ice pallets. They've been doing a good job here of treating the roadways leading up to the storm
00:22Lots of salt down on the roadways on the sidewalks as well
00:25You can see a perfect example here of where I'm standing
00:28I'm on this median in the middle of the roadway where there has been no salt laid and that's you can see this ice
00:34It looks like snow, but this is actually ice that's piled up here this morning on this median
00:38But here on the road surfaces where they've laid that salt you can see the benefits of putting that salt down and treating the roadways
00:44It looks like it's basically just rain here wet surfaces here the interstates
00:49They do have a digital electronic signs up saying that you should not be going over 45 miles per hour to interstates in the area
00:56But the interstates are flowing well
00:58Very wet surface, but not slick except for those raised areas those roadways that are above the ground surface
01:05So bridges and whatnot are still going to be
01:08Caused troubles you can still get that freezing on those roadway services, but overall things are pretty well here in Scranton
01:16We did have several hours of pretty heavy on that winter precip falling it has now let off here
01:22We had a bit of a lull, but there are still spotty areas of that precip falling back off to the west
01:27I could still see some more precip I could approach this area here this morning into the early afternoon hours
01:32But again, you're going to want to stay indoors today
01:35Not be on the roadways if you don't have to
01:37Stay, you know even walking quite dangerous to walk around some of these slippery surfaces so a good day to stay indoors
01:44possibly
01:45Hopefully they they put delays in for the schools here or cancellations are in place so people aren't having to get out
01:51But overall things are in pretty good shape right now in Scranton, but we're not done yet
01:55We're not in the store still several more hours of this storm to go today here in this area in Northeastern, Pennsylvania
