00:00And America, as Donald Trump said last night, intends simply to own Gaza.
00:06Well, there's no legal mechanism for that to occur.
00:09The government in Saudi Arabia expressed its unequivocal rejection of attempts to
00:15displace Palestinians and reiterated that it would not normalize ties with Israel
00:21in the absence of an independent Palestinian state.
00:24And remember that last night Donald Trump, to all intents and purposes,
00:28indicated that a two-state solution is no longer a bedrock of foreign policy
00:34under his leadership.
00:36The Egyptian foreign ministry said that aid and recovery programs for Gaza
00:41must begin without the Palestinians leaving.
00:45And one of the issues was the phraseology that Donald Trump used last night.
00:49He talked about Palestinians going back to Gaza.
00:52Well, they've never been allowed to leave Gaza.
00:55They're moving internally within Gaza.
00:58But that use of the phrase, Palestinians going back to Gaza, raised the question
01:02if he fully appreciates the complexities and the nuances of what Palestinian
01:08civilians are dealing with in a territory that they consider home.
