An American In Paris is the illegitimate love child of the classic Americano cocktail and the famous French aperitif Pastis.

00:00Le boisson d'amour.
00:05It means the drink of love.
00:07So we're making an Americano in Paris.
00:08Ooh.
00:09Do you see what we did there?
00:10I do.
00:11We are going to take a little bit of pastis and we're just going to swirl it around.
00:15Just to give the glass the flavor of the pastis, we don't actually want to drink it, we just
00:20want to give this really interesting depth of flavor of an anise, and then we're going
00:24to dump it out.
00:25This is called In-N-Out.
00:26This drink is built in a glass, so it doesn't really matter what kind of ice you use.
00:31The Pebble Ice is really nice, but if you have regular ice at home, go for it.
00:34It's not required.
00:35And then we're going to add a little Campari.
00:36A little sweet for me with my sweet heart.
00:37And so a traditional Americano calls for club soda after the liqueurs, but this one we're
00:45making extra special and extra sexy.
00:47I know you do not have to use champagne.
00:48You can use...
00:49You do not have to.
00:50We're just staying within the French-Parisian theme.
00:53If you're looking to do heart-shaped garnishes, grab yourself a little heart-shaped cookie
00:56cutter.
00:57Oh, cheers, my darling.
00:58Cheers.
00:59Happy Valentine's Day, my love.
