00:00There is a new approach to reduce traffic in EDSA.

00:05That is the creation of congestion fee or tolls for passengers.

00:10This is the reaction of some motorists to the report of Vona Kino.

00:16The solution implemented in Motsara is to reduce the problem of traffic in EDSA.

00:21There is number coding, removal of provincial bus, rehabilitation project like flyover and underpass, and others.

00:28But the heavy problem is still related to EDSA and does not advance.

00:34With the help of MMDA President Bongbong Marcos and DILG Secretary John V. Cremulia

00:40for the Five-Year Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan,

00:43one of the suggestions is to reduce the congestion fee or tolls in EDSA every rush hour.

00:49Just like what Singapore is implementing.

00:52We understand that in other countries like Singapore, there are congestion charges

00:58where the city charges a fee for certain hours to bring the vehicle.

01:07This is to encourage use of mass public transport.

01:11The President's answer is that this may not be the right time.

01:15This can only be done if there is an alternative, if our mass transport is already efficient.

01:21We asked some car owners about this.

01:41But the Department of Transportation said that this is just a study.

01:46Another solution that will be implemented to make EDSA more efficient

01:50is the removal of the U-turn slot in the C5 Kalayaan that will replace the underpass.

01:55The MMDA also confirmed that the removal of the EDSA bus carousel and the addition of MRT capacity was also discussed.

02:02If the passengers can accommodate on the top of the train,

02:08we don't see the need for a bus because it is exactly the same route.

02:13In fact, the train is more advantageous because it has more stops than the bus carousel.
