00:00The Parliamentary Elections of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, or BARMM, were convened at the Bicameral Conference Committee on October 13.

00:18According to Senate President Chiz Estudero, this is to ensure that the elections will be clean and peaceful.

00:25It was also agreed upon at the Bicam meeting that the term of the current member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority will be extended.

00:33However, House Deputy Minority Leader Mujib Hataman, who is a member of the BARMM, did not agree with the Bicam report.

00:43He said that if they want peace, they should allow the members of the Bangsamoro to elect their leaders in the May elections.

00:51In order for a law to be passed, the Bicam report must first be approved by the Senate and House of Representatives.

00:58It must be signed by President Bongbong Marcos.

01:01ComElect Chair George Erwin Garcia said that they are ready and that they understand the intention of the BARMM elections.

01:12Two and a half billion pesos will be needed for the separate automated BARMM elections.
