00:09The Department of Social Welfare and Development once again explained that the agency has been following the criteria
00:15to provide assistance to the Kaposangkita Program or AKAP.
00:19According to DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dublaw,
00:22the referral letter of any politician or personality does not immediately mean that they will be qualified.
00:29An individual under the program will have to undergo a thorough process by their social worker
00:35to report to the beneficiaries before receiving the cash aid.
00:39The beneficiary of AKAP must be assured that they do not earn more than what the law stipulates for the minimum wage.
00:49This is to ensure that they are truly affected by inflation.
00:55Starting today, imported rice can be purchased for P55 per kilo.
01:00This is after the Department of Agriculture issued the maximum suggested retail price for imported rice.
01:07The DA explained that they are gradually increasing the price of imported rice to avoid destabilization in the industry.
01:16It also aims to reduce the price of imported rice by P52 per kilo in February and P49 per kilo in March.
01:24The DA declared the food security emergency in rice on February 3.
