Here is a great example of how this type of damage can be repaired, and how I often do it. It is a fairly common situation, and if there were no rash attempts at repair, it can easily be glued back together, and the guitar will serve you happily ever after (unless, of course, it breaks again due to your fault :) ). Despite popular belief, after proper gluing, almost nothing changes with the guitar (if the parts fit perfectly without chipping). Also, many acoustic guitar and slant-neck manufacturers do not use one solid piece of wood for the neck. Almost all of them are already glued together from several parts to improve stability and reduce production costs.
In addition to repairing the neck, I also show an example of how to hide the crack. There are many ways to do this - from completely ignoring the finish to completely repainting the damaged area, if it is really justified.
