00:31leaders, including the Dalai Lama and Deepak Chopra. According to the Hollywood Music and
00:35Media Awards website, it won a Best New Age slash Ambient award in 2012, the year before its actual
00:42release. Maples' one daughter with the now-president, Tiffany Trump, also made a go
00:46at being a pop star around 2011. We'll see in a couple years if I actually do want to take it to
00:52the next level as a professional. But Tiffany didn't become a professional singer and wasn't
00:56at the Grammys, and an album from almost 12 years ago can't be the reason Maples got the invite,
01:01right? From the looks of things, Maples probably made it to the awards show as a plus one. She was
01:05pictured arriving at the Grammys alongside Ricky Kej, an Indian composer who has three Grammy
01:10awards to his name. In a 2024 LinkedIn post, Kej referred to Maples as a dear friend and added,
01:16"'We can talk for hours about everything under the sun and beyond.'"
01:19Whatever the reason for her appearance, Maples' time on the red carpet drew some likely unwanted
01:23attention. The Daily Mail put her on its worst-dressed list for the night, writing,
01:27"'The tailoring of the dress appeared to be ill-fitting and the fabric wrinkled as soon
01:31as she stepped on the carpet.'" Some social media users couldn't help but wade into the
01:35politics of it all, even though Maples and Donald Trump's marriage ended nearly 26 years ago.
01:39The evening's host, Trevor Noah, made numerous jokes about the president's tariffs on Canada,
01:44Mexico, and China. And not like we really have to say this, but plenty of attendees publicly
01:49supported Kamala Harris in 2024. Maples did state for the record that she was supporting
01:53her ex-husband in the 2024 race. Several People on X observed that Maples seemed out of place.
01:59Maples has attended the Grammys once before, with her then-husband Donald Trump, in 1994.
