US President Donald Trump's Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, visited Panama. He presented Trump's concerns about China allegedly controlling the Panama Canal. Panama's President, Jose Raul Mulino, has made some concessions to the US, to placate Trump. Panama will audit a Hong Kong-based firm in charge of two ports in Panama. US warships will be allowed to travel through the Panama canal for free. And Panama says it will not renew its membership in China's Belt and Road Initiative. Panama's decision to ditch the BRI drew a warm response from Rubio. But will it be enough to stop Trump from trying to take back the Panama Canal?
