00:00Just reviewing the Chelsea game, 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to the home side and they took the
00:07lead fantastically West Ham through Jarrod Bowen. It was a well-rounded Green Park performance
00:13and maybe just didn't have that finishing blow at times in the game. How do you summarise
00:17the game? What are your feelings? Because, albeit if you went there under Julian Opategi,
00:23you maybe not know what sort of West Ham you're going to get. It's sort of, as you've mentioned
00:28before, a bit more of an identity in the Green Park. Very solid at times as well and
00:32they were sort of unlucky on the night.
00:34Yeah, we frustrated them, especially in that first half. I thought we went there with a
00:38very clear game plan and it wasn't ultra defensive like we've been used to. We had our moments
00:44and, especially in the first half with Bowen's goal, we took our opportunities when they
00:49came. It was, like you said, a classic Green Park performance but the thing that pleased
00:55me the most is that, given the amount of injuries that we've still got, obviously Evan
01:00Ferguson couldn't play because he signed too late, there's still a number of first team
01:07players that would have bought strikes at the start of the XI that aren't there. Jarrod
01:11Bowen's return has been a huge boost for us. But beyond that, you've got, Pak Attar was
01:16missing with a groin problem that he picked up in the last game. Edson Alvarez was missing
01:20in midfield, Falkirk's still injured, Antonio's still injured. Somerville was supposed to
01:24only be out for two weeks and it's been a month now since we haven't seen him for a
01:26month. So there's a lot of players there that we're still waiting to come back. So to go
01:31to Chelsea, go 1-0 up, put in a performance like that and come out of it feeling quite
01:37disappointed and feeling quite unlucky that we didn't take something from the game, perhaps
01:42not win but at least take something from the game, given the nature of Chelsea's two goals,
01:46the second one being incredibly fortunate and the first one, there were question marks
01:52of it as I found in the build-up. So I think we can come away from there feeling pretty
01:58positive that yes, we didn't win but we caused Chelsea problems and it's a sign hopefully
02:03of things to come under Grandpa. They're only going to continue improving and we get players
02:07back from injury. We've got the new signings coming in as well. It was a performance and
02:13a game where I think a lot of West Ham fans would be going, I don't mind the fact that
02:18we've lost there. For me, it was all about the performance. And if you look at the footage
02:22after the game, a lot of West Ham fans stayed and clapped the players. We've not seen that
02:27very often this season. So I think that is also a good sign that the fans recognise that
02:34we're going in the right direction under Grandpa. It's still early days. He needs a lot more
02:39time, he needs a lot more players and he needs probably the summer transfer window to really
02:44make an impact. But there are green shoots there and I think that's the most positive
02:49thing at this stage.
