00:00We move on here from New Orleans. Kyle Sabe is with us from Fantasy Betting Analysts, of course, at Pro Football Network.
00:07Good to see you, Kyle. And I know you wrote a piece on what I think has been the ignored story.
00:13Sure.
00:14The De'Aaron Fox and Zach Levine. Now, I got to ask you, because I think Zach's a badass, and so is De'Aaron.
00:24And I think this benefits both San Antonio's—Wemby gets to play with his cat, and he's a freak.
00:30And Levine is 44% from—what is he shooting? Career highs from a 4 and 3, averaging 24, 4, and 4, 4+, 4+.
00:43And he's a badass, too. And that deal has been ignored.
00:47I agree. I mean, Levine can play. We know that.
00:50I'm not sold on the situation there. You've got a lot of guys that play kind of similar ball.
00:54Going to San Antonio? You're talking about Luka? You're talking about the Mavericks?
00:59I'm talking about a team in San Antonio that's going to be good for a decade.
01:02I compared them to the Running Guns' sons. Amari Stoudemire, Steve Nash, fit like a glove from day one.
01:09This team gets half a season to warm up. I don't think they're going anywhere.
01:13They're five games under .500. I don't think they're going anywhere this year.
01:15Right.
01:16But moving down the road here, San Antonio's going to be at what? A top three team?
01:20List to me the West teams you want over San Antonio moving forward.
01:23I get—OK, see, I'll give you that. After that, is it much of a list?
01:26No. But I'll say, you know, I agree with you, everything you said.
01:32Because I said it earlier. I was talking to somebody about it off-air.
01:36And I was saying how they're tough now. They're just not good.
01:43They're tough. They play—
01:44He's that good.
01:45Like, he's that good. And then, you know, with Castle.
01:48And then, remember, they've been doing it without Pop.
01:50Yeah.
01:51And, you know, he had a stroke. So they have been tough.
01:54They're like a team that—they're a problem.
01:56Like, you know, remember the day, the first game in Paris, they killed the Pacers.
01:59Then they got bent over, right?
02:01But they are tough every night. They're a game every night.
02:04They show up every night.
02:06And now imagine when you get that type of player to go with him.
02:10And we're not talking CP3.
02:12We're talking De'Aaron Fox.
02:13We're talking closer to peak CP3.
02:15Maybe peak plus with the scoring that Fox brings.
02:17He's better.
02:18It's evolution.
02:20CP3, the point got, I'll give him all that.
02:23His credentials are there.
02:24De'Aaron Fox, when all is said and done, is going to be a better basketball player.
02:27I get that you're talking 15 years.
02:29And I'm not talking bad about Chris.
02:30No.
02:31Don't get me wrong.
02:32Me neither.
02:33I mean, you're talking Wemby, who's impacting games, impacting winning,
02:36impacting spreads in a major way.
02:38We're, what, 110 games into his career?
02:40He said it himself the other day.
02:42This is the worst version of Wemby that we're going to see.
02:45Ever.
02:46That is impossible for me to fathom.
02:48And then you got De'Aaron Fox, who's reaching his prime.
02:50You mentioned Castle.
02:51Vassell's there.
02:52Pop's going to be there.
02:53This team.
02:54Barnes, they're loaded.
02:55They're not just a playoff team.
02:56They're a problem, like you said.
02:58Would it shock you, shock you, if they won the Westlands next year?
03:02No.
03:03I said on the show many times already that, first of all,
03:07the defense player of the year is already over.
03:09That's already over.
03:10He's going to have 275 blocks.
03:15And 203s.
03:17Easily.
03:18And then, so no one will ever win that award again for the next 10,
03:2212 years.
03:23That's a done deal.
03:24If he's healthy, it's a done deal.
03:25Secondly, what really got me was that I can understand, frankly,
03:31that De'Aaron didn't want to stay in Sacramento.
03:33Fair enough.
03:34I would say that I could live with.
03:36But the fact that they would let him go.
03:38Now, I'll give you this.
03:39They cleaned up.
03:41They got three number ones and three number twos.
03:43Yeah, teach Dallas how to do it.
03:44Right.
03:45Like they cleaned up.
03:46So, I guess at the end of the day, it was worth it for them.
03:48But I still can't believe that they did it.
03:51Like that they would let that guy go.
03:55But when you get those six picks, now you can start filling the cupboard.
03:58So, I guess that's why they did it.
04:00But I don't know if I could ever sit in a room at a table and go,
04:03you know what we should do today?
04:04Let's try De'Aaron Fox.
04:06It's the same with Luka.
04:07What are you doing with those picks?
04:08Your hope is to draft the next De'Aaron Fox, draft the next Luka.
04:11You had him in the house.
04:13Why move on from it?
04:14And now you're strengthening the Spurs who are, like we said,
04:17a team that's going to be a team to watch for a long, long time.
04:21I don't think there's anything the league can do about it right now.
04:23Everybody wants to talk about Luka joining LeBron.
04:25That's great.
04:26You know how long that's great for?
04:2718 months maybe.
04:29What do you think of how Zach handled his business?
04:34Now you got a guy like Butler who has just been lymphoma.
04:39He literally is lymphoma.
04:41He is such a cancer.
04:42He has ruined, in my opinion, the heat for the year.
04:45They're done.
04:46They don't matter anymore.
04:48And then he took Pat Riley out and, you know,
04:51beat him with a wooden mallet and, like, you know,
04:54turned it into a personal thing.
04:56And I thought he looked really bad doing it.
04:58But then they were going to train and then they're going to go to the
05:01Dubs.
05:02Then he goes to the Dubs.
05:03He says, yeah, I don't want to sign a deal with them.
05:05I'll play for the rest of the season.
05:07But not after that.
05:08He is impossible.
05:09How in God's name did Zach Levine shut his mouth and just ball out all year
05:15in Chicago and never complained once?
05:17He did it right.
05:18And maybe he's just the better player, the more mature player at this point.
05:20I like how Levine handled his business,
05:22which is where you were headed with that.
05:24I'm just not sure about the fit in Sacramento.
05:26You got DeRozan there.
05:27Sabonis, I love.
05:28Sabonis, I think you can build a championship contender around.
05:30I love him, too.
05:31I think they're missing, like, a guy.
05:33De'Aaron Fox, if you will.
05:34Yeah.
05:35I think they're missing a number one option.
05:37DeRozan can get you buckets.
05:38Levine can get you buckets.
05:39Sabonis can distribute.
05:40But you're missing that key piece.
05:42They think Monk's that guy.
05:44But he's not.
05:45He was better with De'Aaron than without him.
05:48When we come back, I want to keep talking to Kyle because I want to talk to him
05:51about his college power rankings.
05:54And I still want to get your thought on what Luke will be like in L.A.
06:00long-term, like from now until 10 years from now.
06:05Because he's probably got, you know, if I got this guy, LeBron James,
06:09who he's not like.
06:10But he played until he's 40.
06:12This guy plays at least until he's 35 or 36.
06:14Kyle Sabe is with us.
06:15And what I like about Sabonis is, did you see that starting five when he
06:21brought in the snowmaker for his kid?
06:24So good.
06:25That's when you're a good dad.
06:27He's a good dad.
06:28He's one of a kind on the court, too.
06:30I mean, we see it more now and now.
06:32He's like souped up Draymond Green.
06:34If he had his head on straight, he distributes.
06:36He passes.
06:37He shoots now.
06:38He's got a little bit of a jumper going.
06:39I think he can be a focal point.
06:40I don't think he can be a one, but a 1A.
06:42Yeah, he's a badass.
06:44I think he needs help, though.
06:45His dad was great.
06:46Arbenis?
06:47He was a better passer.
06:48Better passer, but not the score.
06:50No, but he could pass like no other.
06:51He was a point guard.
06:52And he looked like me in terms of how much he ate.
06:55You know what I mean?
06:56That guy, he didn't miss a meal.
06:57He was on the seafood diet.
06:59If he saw food, he ate it.
07:00He had that Jokic build.
07:02Maybe not Jokic's game, but the kind of dope.
07:04And he's still alive.
07:05Yeah, he's still alive.
07:06He's great.
07:07So what do you think happens to Luka over the next ten years?
07:11I think you had it right.
07:12I heard you earlier that he's going to be the man of L.A.
07:14I think that's kind of the direction it has to go.
07:16We've got a handing of the torch here.
07:18I think it's kind of like what we saw when LeBron joined D.
07:20Wade.
07:21It was D.
07:22Wade was in his prime, and he was giving it away to LeBron.
07:24LeBron was the next era.
07:25LeBron was the king.
07:27And he has been since day one.
07:29He's lived up to it.
07:30I think Luka can pull that off.
07:32We need to see it, though.
07:33I mean, in Dallas, those bright lights aren't the same as they
07:35are in L.A.
07:36This isn't going to be his show from day one.
07:38He's got to share the spotlight a little bit, which he did with
07:40Kyrie in Dallas.
07:42We'll see how it works out in L.A. initially.
07:44But long term, this is his gig, no doubt.
07:47And you know that he's going to fill it up with LeBron from the
07:50minute they touch the floor.
07:52Think All-Star game.
07:53When they play together, they're laughing at people.
07:55And to give LeBron a guy like that that can take some usage off
07:58of his play and then dock down jumpers.
08:00Anthony Davis, he was great.
08:02Don't get me wrong.
08:03But he's not a high usage player that's going to handle the
08:05perimeter duty the way Luka can.
08:07He's going to prolong LeBron's prime if it's still in his prime.
08:10So let's go to your college basketball power rankings.
08:14I like your top team.
08:16I've said from months before the season started, we already knew.
08:21Because I ball a lot.
08:22I play ball six days a week.
08:24And I watched Cooper Flagg play a lot of high school basketball.
08:28And big time, you know, basketball on the circuit.
08:32Like everyone knew what he could do, especially in the northeast.
08:35You know, up in New York and what he was doing in Maine.
08:38And you knew what he was going to be.
08:40You knew what he was going to bring.
08:42I mean, you can't afford to go to the NCAA championship game when he's
08:45there for one year before he goes pro.
08:47That's what he's going to have.
08:48He's going to take him right to.
08:49I mean, this guy, he's better than Christian Laettner.
08:51I mean, he's unreal.
08:53And you have them number one.
08:55Now, I don't disagree with that at all.
08:57I like Auburn, too.
08:58I'm kind of, like you said before, 1A.
09:00I'm cool with both of them because I think Broome's a badass.
09:03Who's your favorite teams, obviously, besides Duke?
09:06Yeah, I mean, Duke, like you said, they're kind of bulletproof at this point.
09:09But that's the beauty of March Madness.
09:11There's 364 teams because anything can happen.
09:14St. Peter's, I didn't know it was a college.
09:16They're going to the Elite Eight one year.
09:17So, that's how this works.
09:18I think Tennessee is a problem.
09:20They've got TK Ziegler at point guard.
09:22I like to think of him as like my spirit animal.
09:24You say you play basketball.
09:26I played back in the day.
09:27I passed my prime now.
09:28But a distributor, a guy that can just do a little bit of everything.
09:31I don't like the way they shoot.
09:33They can't shoot.
09:34Can't shoot.
09:35That's how they're going to lose in the tournament.
09:38They're great, but they can't shoot.
09:40If you can't shoot, you can't win.
09:43It'll catch up to you.
09:44I think they can win at a high level.
09:45Can they go all the way?
09:46I don't know.
09:47Teams over the last ten years score less in the tournament than they do during the regular season.
09:51So, there's something.
09:52So, I'm shocked that you have Gonzaga too.
09:55Yeah.
09:56What is that about?
09:58It's a formula, to be honest with you.
10:00They came out high so far.
10:01We'll see how that goes as the schedule plays out.
10:03Their strength schedule will hurt them.
10:05But Mark Few has them playing well.
10:08I mean, they're not Duke.
10:10They're not Gonzaga.
10:11They're not what they've been ever.
10:14Like, I've never seen a team of his more fair to Midland.
10:19I don't think they're much better than fair to Midland.
10:22I think they can be good, but they haven't been good.
10:26I've never seen them struggle in games like this where they're laying 25, 30 points and they win by eight.
10:33Yeah, that's the weird thing about them.
10:34The expectations are so high on a game-to-game basis.
10:37Duke, Auburn, you have some smaller spreads because they play in power conferences.
10:41Gonzaga, we'll see where it plays out.
10:43The profile looks good.
10:44We'll see if that maintains over the course of an entire season.
10:47But Duke, Auburn, I'm with you there.
10:48Completely different tier than Gonzaga.
10:50I like your Texas Tech play.
10:52That win at Houston was badass.
10:54I bet on Houston on that one, too.
10:55So, I wasn't thrilled about that.
10:56It was a great play.
10:57It was a great game.
10:58I had Houston on the money line.
10:59It didn't work out.
11:00They were catching, what, 11, 10, 11 points in that game.
11:02They ball.
11:04They can defend as hard as anyone.
11:06They went to Houston, win that game in overtime after coughing it up.
11:09That game, it shows me more on the screen than any metrics could tell me.
11:13Yeah, I got to tell you.
11:14And then we've seen Houston win big games on the road at Kansas.
11:20The double overtime win, that was impressive.
11:22Hey, it's great having you on the show.
11:24Good to see you, Kyle.
11:25Come back on anytime.
