00:00With just a week since the Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, started printing ballots for the
00:042025 midterm polls, COMELEC Chief Attorney George Erwin Garcia said the National Printing
00:11Office has already succeeded printing over 9 million ballots.
00:16This means that COMELEC has completed 13.12% of the target 72 million ballots to be printed
00:23and there are only 62 million remaining to be printed until the deadline on April 14.
00:29The agency clarified that their target date is still on April 14 even if the printing
00:34is expedited.
00:35It is because the manual and machine verification will be thorough.
00:39Aside from printing the ballots, they advised the voters to bring their own copies of sample
00:44ballots to allow faster phasing while voting.
00:47However, COMELEC eyes to release policies on prohibiting distributions of sample ballots
00:52on polling precincts.
00:54Sample ballots is campaigning.
00:57It is not prohibited to print one day before the election.
