00:00Updates on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.

00:21First of all, my fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:26led the inauguration of the new 2.55 billion pesos runway at Mactan-Cebu International Airport or MCIA.

00:37It is the first and only parallel runway in the country.

00:41According to President Marcos, Jr., the government has plans to upgrade

00:4615 more runways across the country.

00:49This is just one of the improvements in the airport infrastructure.

00:54Connectivity is a big part of the development

00:58and it will provide opportunities for the development of various places in the country.

01:03The President of the Aviation Infrastructure Program said

01:06that we can get 7.7 billion pesos this year for the upgrade of 15 or 15 more runways across the country.

01:13The government plans to modernize, improve connectivity,

01:17and get state-of-the-art navigational equipment.

01:20According to President Marcos, Jr., the new MCIA runway,

01:26the current parallel runway in the Philippines,

01:28is a big step because it will help improve the competitiveness,

01:33connectivity, and capacity of Cebu Province for incoming visitors.

01:39The President described Cebu Province as a place where history and development cannot be separated.

01:46Although there is a modern change, tradition cannot be separated.

01:50According to the President, the new runway at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

01:54represents the true meaning of Cebu.

01:58Dynamic, promising, and ready to face any challenge.

02:02And just like Cebu has become the center of popularity and tourism,

02:06this parallel runway symbolizes the aggressive desire to expand the area.

02:12The Altered Runway is a 2.56 or 2.56-kilometer infrastructure project

02:17designed to meet the increasing and increasing air traffic demand

02:22and accommodate passengers and cargo volumes.

02:24It will provide uninterrupted airport operations during emergency, maintenance, and runway closure.

02:30The MCIA authority also noted a remarkable milestone in 2024.

02:3511.3 million passengers passed the airport.

02:3813% growth in domestic travelers and 12% increase in international passengers.
