00:00We're here with the king of dance music himself, Mr. David Guetta.
00:03How does it feel to be back at the Grammys this year?
00:05It feels fantastic. I love it. I don't get tired of it.
00:10Neither do we. I can speak for both of us.
00:12Well, people didn't get tired of a Bartong Tipsy,
00:14and you had a lot to do with the remix of that.
00:16So how does that feel to work with Shaboozie?
00:17No, it was fantastic. I think he's one of the coolest new artists that,
00:22you know, that happened for a few years.
00:26So I was glad that they asked me for the remix.
00:29Also, like, you know, since Avicii,
00:32there was not a mix of country and dance music.
00:37So I was very friend with him.
00:39So I was trying to think of him at the same time that I was working on this remix.
00:43And I think it came out really good.
00:46I think he went to, the remix went to number one dance music in the U.S.
00:50So I don't know. Maybe I win.
00:52You never know.
00:53You never know.
00:54Yeah, you never know.
00:55This is really the thing with the Grammys.
00:57You never know. It's impossible to understand.
01:00Well, I mean, something that we do know for sure is that you're not afraid of genre.
01:04And I like that you don't confine yourself into any sort of music genre.
01:08Where do you find the inspiration to kind of branch out like that?
01:11Well, I think, you know, in reality, everything has been done.
01:15And it's very hard to create completely new music.
01:20The reality is that if you want to create something new,
01:23you combine two different styles that have not been combined yet.
01:28And that creates a new style.
01:30And so I love doing this.
01:32And I'm a DJ.
01:32This is what I've been doing my entire life.
01:34You know, like mixing records together and finding ideas.
01:38Oh, I could put this vocals on.
01:41Even when I make music, I think as a DJ,
01:43I'm like, oh, I could make the chords of that old record with those new vocals.
01:49So what are you saying?
01:50Is he smarter than both of us?
01:51He could do more than we could ever do.
01:53And I do want to talk to you also about your new song that you just had.
01:56She called you King of Dance, but another dance king, Steve Aoki.
01:59So how did the two get together?
02:01And how did that even come about?
02:05Well, you know, I got those vocals.
02:08And again, I love combining urban and dance music.
02:13And Steve is a friend.
02:14So we ended up working on the record together.
02:18He also loves urban.
02:19So yeah, it's a new adventure.
02:23And also, like, now, you know, I came for the Grammys to L.A.
02:28And then while I was here, I worked yesterday.
02:33I was with Kid Cudi.
02:34And we had memories together.
02:36You know, one of the biggest dance songs of all time, Memories.
02:40So, you know, like we it was crazy to be with him again.
02:45We made three songs in one day.
02:48It was really incredible.
02:49When are we getting the three songs?
02:51Yeah, yeah.
02:52It's gonna happen before summer.
02:55One of them for sure.
02:56See, that's what I like to hear.
02:57And then I've been working with Sia again, too.
03:03I have one coming out very soon.
03:06So yeah, yeah.
03:07And you know, like the way we do with Sia and Cudi.
03:11Okay, we do one song for me, one song for you.
03:15It's always so inspiring seeing you on the carpet, David.
03:22And we're so happy for you.
03:23Congratulations again on another successful year.
03:25Have fun.
03:27Thank you for having me.
03:27Good night.
03:28All right, bye, guys.
