00:00Brandon Graham, who tore his left triceps, folks, if you don't know what that is, your
00:05triceps is your outer arm from your elbow to near the top of your shoulder.
00:09He tore it.
00:10He had surgery.
00:11Now, he got hurt week 12 at the Rams at SoFi Stadium where he was having an amazing game.
00:17He was their third edge rusher, the first guy off the bench.
00:19And, Scott, he told reporters he's done for the season.
00:22Well, guess what?
00:24In recent weeks, he kind of hinted on WIP in Philly in his radio interviews that he
00:29thought if they got to the Super Bowl, he'd have a chance to play and voila, here we go.
00:33He's getting some light work in.
00:34This is the test week for Brandon Graham, number 55, at 36 years old, Scott.
00:40What he's doing is this week, he's testing it.
00:43He's trying to see what kind of power he has.
00:45By the way, he's wearing a brace on his left elbow, so he's trying to see what kind of
00:50power he has, what kind of punch he has.
00:53And they'll make a decision off of that with what he'll do in practice next week when they
00:58start practicing next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in New Orleans.
01:01But this is amazing news, Scott.
01:04The typical surgery for left triceps, or any triceps injury, quite frankly, when you have
01:09the repair, is four to five months where you get full healing.
01:13Obviously, here, you're not getting full healing.
01:15But he kind of hinted to reporters, Scott, this week that it's working.
01:20So right now, he said he's working before he threw it.
01:23But so far, it's working.
01:24I find it hard to believe.
01:26But you know what?
01:28Never count a guy out.
01:29I remember covering the 05 Super Bowl when Terrell Owens was coming back from this ankle
01:32fracture.
01:33He came back four weeks to six weeks in advance, and he said he was about 75% of healing and
01:41effectiveness.
01:42And guess what?
01:43He had a great game against his Patriots.
01:44Yeah, I'm a little sketchy on, A, if he should play, and then, you know, he's wearing this
01:51brace and that he thinks he's, you know, ready to go and healed and all the rest when
01:57the, you know, like a doctor, like Dr. Chow would say, it's four months, it's five months,
02:04and this guy's trying to pull this off.
02:06I'm a little leery of it.
02:08But what I really want to know is, is he going to retire?
02:11That's the question, because he's old, and it's over, and he's got all this other stuff
02:15going on, podcasts and everything else.
02:17Certainly, he's opened his mouth up a lot, and it got him in trouble putting his foot
02:21in his mouth.
02:22And, you know, what do you think he's going to do?
02:25And then talk about the Chiefs.
02:28So BG, as we call him here in Philly, number 55, the first round pick out of Michigan in
02:332010.
02:34Now, he announced before the season started that he was going to be retiring.
02:37This is it.
02:38But he's backed off in the last four to six weeks.
02:41This is before he knew that he might be able to play.
02:43What he did say was that, and I'm just going to paraphrase here, he wanted to see how the
02:48rehab went for this repair to that left triceps.
02:52But I look at it this way, Scott, knowing players as I do, and just talking to them
02:54over the years about retirement, let's say they lose this game by three.
02:58It's really close.
03:00He may change his mind and want to come back for one more year, try to win another ring.
03:03Remember, he won in 2017, as you know, the strip sack against Tom Brady.
03:07They needed it against Brady there in Minneapolis.
03:11But the bottom line is, he's still leaning towards retirement, but he's not definitely
03:15going to do it.
03:16He's kind of hedged.
03:17He's kind of hedged it.
03:18And I'm sure what happens here in this game next Sunday is going to go a long way to doing
03:23it.
03:24And he turns 37, Scott, in April.
03:26As we know, Scott, no one plays this late in their career.
03:28I mean, it's just remarkable what he's done.
03:30You know what's interesting, Scott, in Philly, if you remember, the fans wanted Earl Thomas.
03:35They wanted Jason Pierre Paul.
03:36They got neither.
03:37And who's the guy who's outlasted them all?
03:40One Brandon Graham.
