00:00Of course, it was headlined by the welterweight battle
00:02between Eddie Alvarez, the underground king,
00:04Philly's own against Jeremy Little Heath and Stevens.
00:07Both these guys, long-time MMA fighters.
00:10Eddie Alvarez, of course, in Bellator,
00:11and then the UFC, former UFC champ.
00:13Stevens is a long-time UFC fighter,
00:15never got the championship, but, you know,
00:17had a long career there, and then both these guys,
00:19you know, in the BKFC for a couple fights now.
00:22Stevens with some impressive wins lately,
00:24getting the chance to take out Eddie Alvarez
00:25after he was just, you know,
00:28just bashing the Philadelphia Faithful
00:30up and down from the time this fight was made.
00:32Just doing what he could at the press conference,
00:34saying they're a city of losers,
00:35although now, of course, they're in the Super Bowl.
00:37Also saying that, you know, they are a, you know,
00:39they have guys like Eddie Alvarez
00:41who are just gonna lose all the time,
00:43and he's giving away front-row seats
00:44to watch Eddie Alvarez get beat.
00:46Did not sit well with Alvarez,
00:47and I thought that that would fuel him.
00:49And you know what? It definitely fueled him,
00:51but just not enough.
00:52The body did not hold up enough
00:54for the underground king, unfortunately,
00:56as he was feeling out early.
00:58You know, round one, both these guys
00:59were throwing some good shots,
01:00but nobody landing a ton there.
01:02I thought that Alvarez was a little more aggressive
01:03coming forward.
01:04I thought he landed more than Stevens did early on,
01:07so I gave him the 10-9 first round.
01:09Second round, again, Alvarez was doing more coming forward.
01:12They were trading some big shots here and there.
01:14It was more of Alvarez's volume versus Stevens' power,
01:17depending on how you want to score that as a judge.
01:20Well, it seemed like the power was the one that won out,
01:22because at some point, I believe in that second round,
01:25from what I saw, probably about 40 seconds in
01:27in the big exchange they had,
01:28there was a big shot landed on Alvarez.
01:31And he didn't go down.
01:32He didn't even, you know, shake.
01:34Didn't even have any issue with it,
01:36but his mouth was open.
01:38You can see, you know, and it's not like
01:39his mouth wasn't open, heavy breathing.
01:41Sometimes you can't close it
01:43after you get a big shot like that.
01:44As we found out later on,
01:47even though I thought Alvarez won the round,
01:49then in the corner still with the mouth wide open,
01:51the third round, again, Alvarez was coming forward
01:53trying to, you know, get in there against Stevens,
01:56and Stevens is landing some big shots.
01:57Actually got some knockdowns there against Alvarez.
02:00Two knockdowns.
02:02Alvarez gets back up, because he's really tough.
02:04He's a tough dude, not gonna give up.
02:06You're gonna have to take him out on his shield.
02:08Well, in the corner in the third round,
02:10after the third round, before the fourth,
02:11his corner is the one that said,
02:12you know what, no mas, no more.
02:14And we find out later on, you can go on social media
02:16and see Eddie Alvarez post that.
02:20Apparently, during that second round,
02:22that jaw got broken.
02:23There's a big fracture there.
02:24You can see the scans he put up there to prove.
02:26It's like, I tried to fight through it,
02:27but he landed the kill shot,
02:29and I was not able to continue.
02:30So, great job for him.
02:32Stevens was taunting the crowd afterwards, of course,
02:34continuing with it all,
02:35continuing with the bad guy mentality.
02:38Even was talking to McGregor and Dave Feldman saying,
02:42time to get paid, give me a big fight.
02:44Well, Conor McGregor got in there afterwards
02:46and said he wants that fight.
02:47He said, book it to Feldman.
02:49Told Feldman before he went to the press conference again,
02:51I want that fight.
02:52We'll see if that's gonna happen.
02:53Obviously, Conor's still under contract with the UFC,
02:55even though he's a BKFC owner.
02:57And already had a boxing fight,
02:58Knicks against the Paul brothers.
03:01So, I don't know if the BKFC and the UFC
03:03are gonna be able to come together on that one.
03:05Of course, they're talking about, you know,
03:06trying to get some other fights going,
03:07but I don't know if that'll be one they'll do.
