प्रयागराज, उत्तर प्रदेश: तीर्थराज प्रयागराज में आयोजित दिव्य और भव्य कुंभ में देश भर से करोड़ों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु उमड़ रहे हैं और पवित्र संगम में आस्था व विश्वास की डुबकी लगा रहे हैं। त्रिवेणी में स्नान के बाद बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु शहर के प्राचीन मंदिरों में भी दर्शन करने पहुंच रहे हैं। प्रयागराज का एक ऐसा ही पौराणिक मंदिर है मनकामेश्वर महादेव का मंदिर, जो कि यमुना नदी के उत्तरी तट पर स्थिति है। मान्यता है कि मनकामेश्वर महादेव के मंदिर में भगवान राम ने वनवास के दौरान दर्शन किए थे और यहां शिव का पूजन व जलाभिषेक कर अपने मार्ग में आने वाली तमाम विघ्न-बाधाओं को दूर करने की कामना की थी। कहा जाता है कि मनकामेश्वर पर जल चढ़ाए बगैर संगम स्नान का पुण्य प्राप्त नहीं होता है।
