00:00Almost 120 million people in the United States live with air pollution that is negatively
00:05affecting their health, according to a new report.
00:08The American Lung Association report found that many Americans were living in places
00:12with failing grades for unhealthy levels of ozone or particle pollution.
00:17According to CNN, one cause of the high amounts of particle pollution are the wildfires that
00:22have burned hundreds of thousands of acres.
00:25Southern and southwestern cities are the most ozone-polluted, and some of the most
00:29polluted cities in our country are reported to be in California.
00:33New York and Chicago followed closely behind.
00:36The report wasn't all bad news.
00:38There were some improvements for air quality.
00:40The American Lung Association found that 17.6 million fewer people were breathing unhealthy
00:46air than in last year's report.
00:48North Carolina had several cities among the cleanest places for particle pollution and
00:53ozone.
