00:00The Armed Forces of the Philippines returned to the statement of the wife of the Chinese National arrested for not spying on her mistress.

00:09According to the AFP, the suspect obtained sensitive evidence.

00:18The Armed Forces of the Philippines denied that the Chinese National was arrested for spying on her.

00:28This is the answer of the AFP in the statement of the wife of the Chinese National that she was not the one who arrested the suspect.

00:34In terms of the interview that was conducted with the wife, the Armed Forces of the Philippines understands her concern being of course emotionally involved being a wife, a mother.

00:46But for the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we look into the evidence-based results of this investigation.

00:56Last week, the Chinese National was arrested in Makati City, where she obtained various tools used for spying.

01:05But in defense of her husband, her job is related to a self-driving car company.

01:13She is not a spy.

01:17She has been living here in the Philippines for a long time.

01:24She has been living here for more than 10 years.

01:26We have a son who is 8 years old.

01:29I am afraid because my son is poor in school.

01:33Because of the media that her father is a spy, I don't want to think about the child.

01:39The investigation of the AFP continues.

01:42Other government agencies are also involved.

01:45What we can point out is that these are crucial features that has been found in the data.

01:53So these are military camps, PNP camps, places that are frequently visited,

01:59especially by a lot of Filipinos, such as malls, airports, ports, and a lot of critical infrastructures as well.

02:09And they number to hundreds.

02:11These are all a matter of sincere and serious concern in our part,

02:20as the AFP is the one safeguarding our national security.

02:25The Chinese and two Filipinos were first accused of espionage and violation of anti-cybercrime law.
