00:00Let's talk about the benefits that can be received by members of PhilHealth.
00:04We have with us Dr. Israel Francis Pargas, Senior Vice President for Health, Finance, Policy Sector of PhilHealth. Good morning.
00:13Good morning. Good morning, Egan and good morning to all our listeners.
00:18In 2025, there are many additional benefits for members of PhilHealth.
00:25We can see heart disease, dialysis, and kidney transplant.
00:29Is this already implemented for patients?
00:34Yes. Actually, for heart attack or for acute myocardial infarction, it started in January.
00:44Our increase of 50% in almost all of our case rates started on January 1 admission.
00:53Kidney transplant also started.
00:57We also released our new benefits for prescription glasses and orthopedic outpatient rehabilitation
01:10with assistive mobility devices like wheelchairs, cranes, crutches, and walkers.
01:16Briefly, how many packages are we talking about?
01:21Well, for acute myocardial infarction or heart attack, if you will be given medicine to dissolve the blood vessel,
01:33this is from Php13,000 to Php130,000.
01:38If you have a heart attack and need angioplasty,
01:44before our package is Php30,000. Now, it reached Php523,000.
01:51Wow.
01:51Also included in that benefit is the use of ambulances for transportation to your hospital and cardiac rehabilitation.
02:01Is that answered by PhilHealth?
02:03Yes. Cardiac rehabilitation is around Php66,000.
02:09The use of ambulances for transportation is around Php22,000.
02:15Before, outpatients were not covered in the emergency room. Now, they are covered with hoods?
02:22Yes. Before, we did not have any benefit if the patient was brought to the emergency room and was not admitted,
02:31but rather stayed in the ER for two hours or less than 24 hours.
02:35Now, we have a benefit for that. It is our emergency room package.
02:40However, we released this to the police, but it is not yet fully implemented because we are just finishing the system.
02:52Even the laboratory tests and medicines of outpatients are also answered by PhilHealth?
02:57Yes. If you were brought to the ER, the things you used, like cotton balls, sweaters, diagnostics or laboratories,
03:07and if there are medicines to be given, it is included in the benefit, including professional fees.
03:14Okay. This is the benefit of PhilHealth in the outpatient mental health package.
03:19But many do not know about this. Who can avail this?
03:23Actually, all of these are for those who are experiencing any mental health problem.
03:31We brought this to our countrymen.
03:35We are also accrediting rural health centers and hospitals.
03:41Now, we have around 28 rural health centers accredited and hospitals.
03:48We have two types of benefits for that. It's a general mental health package and a specialist health package.
03:57The general benefit that can be obtained from our rural health centers, we have trained personnel,
04:07trained by the DOH to look into the general mental health ability.
04:14We also have a package where our psychiatrists, neurologists or psychologists are needed.
04:21That is our specialist mental health package.
04:25In the consultation with psychiatrists and psychologists, PhilHealth also answered?
04:30Yes. But again, this is what we need to get from our accredited facilities.
04:37Okay. So all of our Filipinos are members of PhilHealth. Is that right?
04:42Yes. By virtue of the universal healthcare law, every Filipino is an automatic member of PhilHealth
04:50and every member has an immediate eligibility to all the benefits of the program.
04:56How can they get the PhilHealth card to show it to the hospitals?
05:00It's not necessary under the universal healthcare law to show our card.
05:07What's important is that you are registered and can be seen in our systems.
05:12Okay. Thank you very much PhilHealth spokesperson Dr. Israel Francis Pargas. Be careful.
05:17Thank you. Thank you Egan and thank you to everyone. Good morning.
05:26Good morning.
