In a historic moment, the tricolour was unfurled in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on India's 76th Republic Day for the first time. This marks a landmark moment for the region. An elderly man, a youth, and a child jointly hoisted the flag in Tral Chowk, symbolising unity across generations. Over 1,000 people attended, with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” filling the air. Security forces, including the Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF, ensured a peaceful event. Tral, once known for unrest, witnessed a moment of national pride as locals embraced the tricolour. The event showcased the region’s transition towards peace and development, reinforcing the vision of a “Naya Kashmir.”
