00:00Dean, congratulations on the win, good way to start the season, your first competitive
00:06game, what did you make of it?
00:07Yeah, really good, I thought for the first 60 minutes we were really professional, I
00:11thought we looked fast, we looked sharp, we showed some good skills, some boys that had
00:15not played for a long time got through some good minutes and we did some really good stuff
00:19so I was quite happy with that.
00:20Maybe lost a little bit of concentration towards the end but I suppose that's to be expected
00:24when you're that far in front.
00:25Yeah, we pulled away and then I think the whole game went a little bit flat, we just
00:29spoke about that there internally about making sure we maintain our standards no matter what
00:33and I thought we dropped off towards the back end and we all identified that and we know
00:37it's not good enough but that's something we can fix.
00:39First hit out, quite happy, pretty comfortable.
00:42And on to Hubsfield Giants at home now in the next round, I mean that's going to be
00:46a good sort of test for you obviously but nothing to lose, a chance to see what you
00:51can do against very good opposition.
00:52Yeah, similar to the Championship, everyone wrote us off, you're going to go there and
00:56Hubsfield will come to South Leeds and beat you but we're going to go about our business
00:59and we've got some internal goals that we need to achieve so we'll focus on ourselves
01:04and what we do and go represent the club and each individual will do their job and we'll
01:08go out there and we'll see what happens.
01:10You're happy with the squad you've put together and Greg Eden obviously is the latest and
01:14I think the final piece of the jigsaw, he's obviously a very good signing, played at the
01:18top level here and in Australia.
01:20You seem to have some good young kids in the squad but some experience as well.
01:25Yeah, really happy with the blend, we had four or five very experienced players, there's
01:29a couple of experienced players that didn't play today and they can come back into contention
01:33in the next few weeks.
01:34Adding Greg into that mix, he gives a lot, obviously you had Mackenzie Turner, Mackenzie
01:39Scurr out on the wings, both young lads and no boos in there on Longford Wakey, also a
01:43young lad but they've got loads of pace, they've got good skill and what was pleasing was Billy
01:47Jarrett got through the game again today coming back from injury and I thought he was excellent,
01:51he was turned up and his yardage carries and what he gives us defensively, I thought he
01:55was really smart.
